Land Acknowledgement
I respectfully acknowledge that I live and work in Niagara Falls, Ontario, on the traditional lands of Indigenous Peoples who have cared for and maintained relationships with these lands and waters since time immemorial.
Niagara is treaty land with a rich Indigenous history, including the Hatiwendaronk, Haudenosaunee, and Anishinaabe peoples, including the Mississaugas of the Credit First Nation. This territory is also connected to the Upper Canada Treaties and the Dish with One Spoon Wampum Agreement.
I recognize the First Nations, Métis, and Inuit peoples who continue to live, work, gather, and contribute to the Niagara community today.
I offer this acknowledgement with respect and with an ongoing commitment to learning, listening, and understanding the responsibilities we share in caring for the lands, waters, and one another.
